Hi, I’m Bela!
I come from Salamansa, a beautiful fishing village on the island of SĂŁo Vicente. One day, I was lying on the street in front of the entrance of a house, when the owner of that house appeared and hit me very hard with an iron on my leg.
The blow was so severe that amputation was inevitable. When this episode happened, I was already an old dog, but still I never gave up on getting well! Now I’m living at the shelter and although I’m a bit older and handycapped, I am still happy about every new volunteer, who comes to visit and play with me. I listen well to commands and walk independently with other dogs on any walk so I don’t stiffen up and become active and agile.
I am looking for a lovely forever home, where I don’t have to walk too many stairs, but you still walk with me. Please don’t let me go back to the street, because I would not survive that.
