His Story
I am Pogba! I was abandoned at the Simabo shelter in a sack with my brother Cupido. It was terrible. For a while we could not understand what was going on. When the staff of Simabo found us and opened the sack, I didn’t know what it would happen… maybe they wanted to kill me! I was terrorized, I was trembling like a leaf during a windy day! But they took me and my brother out of the sack, and they gave us food and water and they put us in a wooden cage, protected from other dogs and from the wind. Was that a good sign? Or only the beginning of the end? For days we didn’t come out of our shelter. Every day we received food and water, and many people came to see us and everybody was nice, but we were still afraid for our life. Slowly we began to feel better, to go out of the cage, and to be around with the many other dogs that are in this place, but we still didn’t trust people for a while… We thought they might catch us and put us in a sack again and maybe kill us! So we avoided humans for a while! But then I began to forget that horrible time, I began to trust staff and volunteers, I began to appreciate cuddles and walks… until one day they decided I was a very sociable, good tempered, lovely dog that was ready to be prepared to be rehomed abroad! So here I am, ready to fly to my new family in Europe!

Hello
I visited in last months Santo Antao, Mindelo and Sal. There have been so many dogs in sad situation, but most of them are friendly. Also I was reading the book from Miriam Boetticher about her work and your organisation who is helping so many animals. By watching the pictures of the animals, i found Pogba, with his big eyes. What a sad story. I would be happy to sponsor Pogba monthly with 68 Euros. Hope he has better health now and would be happy to be informed about him. I will organise next days the monthly amount transfor to the Italian account (I live in Switzerland).
Kind regards
Katharina
